Sensing the Tao by Halofan943

Before I can write about how to manage the Tao of a situation, I feel it is good to share how one can be aware of the Tao. This question came up in my previous article on the Tao of Fish and Chips. It is a habit and a curiosity of mine to try to see to the core of situations that interest me. As such, my radar is on when it is important. If it is not, sometimes I notice the Tao and at other times, I do not.

As I said before, the Tao need not be an abstract or esoteric concept. It is practical to be aware of it if you wish to make the best choices in a given situation. Here then is the approach I take to be more aware of the Tao.

Problems are a part of life. Every day, we have to face problems in various shapes and forms. It could be something simple and mundane like trying to deal with a virus in our PCs. Or it could be something more complicated like relationships. It could also be problems at work or something on a larger scale like unrest in the Middle East. All of these are problems that affect our lives directly or indirectly. While we can avoid some of these problems, we cannot avoid them all. Eventually, we will have to stand and fight.

In truth, facing problems is not such a bad thing. Since we cannot avoid all the problems or adversity in life, to be able to master challenges is a vital life skill. Our ability in this area determines whether we will be able to attain our goals and protect our interests. It determines whether life will shape or break us. As such, it makes perfect sense to master the challenges of life for the following reasons.
